Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial in Upper Willis Chapel Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Johnston; his mother, Elsie (Pendley) Johnston; grandchild, Kimberly Speegle; son-in-law, James Howard "Jamie" Earnest; and stepson-in-law, Corpal Manual Green Atkins, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Johnston; daughters, Mary Bolton, Denise Jenkins, Karen Kimbrell, and Sharon Johnston; stepdaughters, Vicky Jenkins and Cynthia Cook Swain; stepson, Gregory Wyers; sisters, Marie Cooner and Meryl Pendley; brother, Lyod Johnston; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
