"Andrew Jackson Pendley was born in Fayette County, Kentucky in 1822. Around 1840 he moved to Parke County, Indiana. In 1844 he married Lavina Carr from Tennessee. She was born in 1824. Of this union were born 4 girls and 6 boys.
"Their first child was a daughter, born in Parke County, Indiana in 1845. The 9 others were born in Edgar County, Illinois in Stratton Township Section No. 4.
"In 1846, Andrew J. Pendley came to Illinois, where he bought 50 acres of land in Stratton Township and became a farmer. His trade in Illinois and Indiana was a wagon maker. He died in about 1875. He and his wife were buried in Blackburn Cemetery, east of Paris, Illinois.

"John Blue (b. c. 1770) m. 1st 1793 Mary Blue, m. 2nd 1835 Martha Pendley (b. 1785). John's parents were Abraham Blue and Elizabeth Quick (?)(maybe Gulick).
"John was born in VA and his first marriage took place in Berkeley Co., VA. John appears to have gone to Hamilton and Butler Cos. OH with his father, for in 1799 Abraham and John Blue signed a Memorial to congress, as settlers "on the Publick lands lying below the mouth of the Great Miami River Between the said Miami and the Boundary Line Between the United States and the Indian Tribes". This petition requested that the land be sold in smaller quantities than full sections, and to give the current settlers preference in the purchase of their land. In 1806 John purchased 80 acres in Butler Co. OH from Evan and Lina Banes. This land was the west half of the NW quarter of section 12, township 2, range 2, in the Miami Purchase. In 1811 he purchased the SW quarter (160a) of section 31, township 2, range 4 east. John and Mary sold the land in section 12 to Daniel and David Heaton in 1818. In 1815 and 1819 they sold the land in section 31 to Michael Pearce and Alex Van Felt. They then removed to newly formed Vigo Co. in western In, where they appear in the 1820 census. They apparently lived in the portion that was broken away to form Parke Co., for John appears there in the 1830-50 censuses. Mary died after the 1830 census and before John's second marriage in 1835, which took place in Parke Co.
"John and Mary had 8 children. John and Martha had Perry Blue, b. c. 1843. Deduced from 1850 census. He may be the Perry in 1880 Montgomery Co. MO."
