This
site is definitely a work in
progress. It represents the best that we have at the moment, but
will change as more information becomes available, both from written
sources and from your contributions. The major purposes of the site
are to provide information to those interested and to request
corrections and additional information.
To access information select the area that best represents were your
ancestors were from. Then select name index. Then
scroll through alphabetical listing of names to find your
ancestor. Click on the name and you will find a summary of the
individual plus links to spouse, parents and children when available.
If the individual cannot be found, try another nearby database.
There
are notes attached to each
individual. These provide the sources of information and will allow
further analysis by interested reviewers.
Living means that an
individual was
born in the last 110 years and we don't have a death date. By privacy
act policies we cannot post this information on a public site. If
you want the data on yourself and your family we would be happy to
provide it separately.
When
we have a series of families in
a given area or situation that we can't link into a common ancestor
yet, we are linking them to a "temporary collector" family. It aids in
research and they will be moved as we encounter more
information.
As a heads up, we are
looking at migrating over time to new.familysearch.org. Or as it
will eventually be called, "family tree" within familysearch.org.
It is currently available to a limited group for debug testing,
but should have full public access later this year. We will
continue to
keep this site updated and functioning until there is no longer
interest.
The
new site is
not fully accessible yet, but contains a huge amount of advantages.
It is a free site, but requires registration to enter. Its
purpose is to create a worldwide family tree, targeting at a single
entry per individual. It allows all researchers and interested
family members to
enter, update and document additional information at any time.
Living individuals can be included, but can only be seen by
children, grandchildren, parents, spouses or grandchildren, or by the
individual who entered the information. The system is being
modified now to allow pictures, certificates and images of source
documents to be connected to each individual as they become available.
