OBITUARY Claude "Ed " Penley, 82, son of Clarence Kirby and Dora Penley, was born July 26, 1923, at Grahamhurst, Ga. He died April 9, 2006, at St. John's Breech Medical Center at Lebanon. He married Barbara Martin March 1, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Craig Penley. Surviving are his wife of the home at Plato; three sons, Charley Penley of Lynchburg, Jesse Penley of Kansas City and Clifford Penley of Plato; and five grandchildren. Burial with military honors was in the Pine Creek Cemetery

CENTERVILLE — Services for Sandra F. Powell Pendley, 65, of Leona are set for 11 a.m. Monday at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville. Burial will be in the Leona Cemetery.
Mrs. Pendley died Friday at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Terra Haute, Ind., and lived in Leona eight months. She had lived in Zavala, Texas. She worked as a caregiver with home health care prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Katy Baptist Church in Colmesneil, Texas. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raydene Powell.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Pendley of Zavala; a son, Gary Steinbecker of Centerville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donnia and Robert Hobbs, and Lona Dove, all of Leona; a brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Vanetta Smith of Huntsville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
