Obituary in Daily Times as Mary M. Downey Pendley. Sunday, Jun 29, 2008 . Mary M. Downey Pendley, 92, of Acworth, died Thursday, June 26, 2008. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Acworth. Mrs. Pendley was born April 26, 1916, in Morrison, Okla., and lived most of her life in Cobb County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Darius Melvin Pendley; her parents, William and Myrtle Downey; two sisters and four brothers. Survivors are her daughters, Carolyn Kemp, Betty Hamby, Linda Burkes and Delores Pendley, all of Acworth; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
