Findagrave.com obituary as ""Papa'' Ross Mayburn, was born July 30, 1918 in Spencer, OK to Bob & Keith Pendley and lived there all of his life, except for 5 years served in the military. He went to be with his Lord May 19, 1989 at the age of 70 years. Ross became a member of the Spencer United Methodist Church at the age of 12 and served on many boards and commissions. He served his community in many capacities, among them several terms as councilman and 2 terms as mayor. Since retiring from Tinker, after more than 32 years of service, he retired from the Spencer Volunteer Fire Department, with 20 years service and was serving his 21st year as a parttime police officer at the time of his death. Ross loved his neighbors, his friends, his co-workers, but most of all his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bessie; three children and their spouses, Irvin & Carol M. Pendley; Kenny & Carol D. Pendley and Charlotte & Barry Hough; a sister, Lenes Brasel. His greatest joy the past few years have been his grandchildren, Asa, Ashley, & Jessica Pendley and Allison Hough.
