Can anyone help
these people?
I received this
email Saturday, April 17, 2004. They purchased Larkin Pendley's
Civil War Rifle and want to make contact with his family. Probably,
if they can actually link this rifle to Larkin, it will increase its
historical significance. It would be nice if we could help these people because at the
same time, we would be helping insure Larkin's place in history. (I have
asked Mr. Heidrick for a picture of Larkin's Rifle. Hopefully I will
have it here on this website in the near future.)
Does anyone know if
a photograph of Larkin survives, with or without his Confederate gear?
Hello,
I hope you may be able to shed some light on this subject.
Our family recently traveled to Georgia for a vacation. While
there, I purchased a rifle that was apparently owned by a man named
Larkin E. Pendley.
I hope you will contact me if you know anything at all about the history
of this rifle. My son is a budding Civil War historian, and owning
this gun is a dream come true for him.
Please review the attached message I have sent to a gentleman named Mark
Owen. He is familiar with this firearm.
I appreciate any assistance you may be able to offer.
Sincerely,
John Heidrick
