Email Received From Elderly Lady Seeking "Lost Love"

Does Anyone Know of a Herman Pendley who was at a CCC Camp In New Mexico?

Dear Sir,

I am looking for information for an elderly friend that is 81 years old.  The man that she seeks to find is Charles Pendley.  He should be around 84 years old.  She met him while living in Carlsbad, N.M. at the CCC camp located between Carlsbad and Artesia, N.M.  I guess he is her "lost Love"???  Anyway, I told her that I would search the net to see if I could find any information about him.

If you or anyone that you know would have knowledge of him, would you please let me know.

Thank you.

Love in Christ,

Mr. Heidrick advised me that Larkin's Revolver and Bowie Knife have been sold.

Does anyone know who purchased them and what part of the country they now reside?  Is it too late to get a photo of them for the website?

Can anyone help these people?

I received this email Saturday, April 17, 2004.  They purchased Larkin Pendley's Civil War Rifle and want to make contact with his family.  Probably, if they can actually link this rifle to Larkin, it will increase its historical significance.  It would be nice if we could help these people because at the same time, we would be helping insure Larkin's place in history. (I have asked Mr. Heidrick for a picture of Larkin's Rifle.  Hopefully I will have it here on this website in the near future.)

Does anyone know if a photograph of Larkin survives, with or without his Confederate gear?

Hello,

I hope you may be able to shed some light on this subject.

Our family recently traveled to Georgia for a vacation.  While there, I purchased a rifle that was apparently owned by a man named Larkin E. Pendley.

I hope you will contact me if you know anything at all about the history of this rifle.  My son is a budding Civil War historian, and owning this gun is a dream come true for him.

Please review the attached message I have sent to a gentleman named Mark Owen.  He is familiar with this firearm.

I appreciate any assistance you may be able to offer.

Sincerely,

J. Heidrick
