obituary - MIAMI, Okla. - Lester E. "Bus" Pendley, 83, 1926 L St. S.W., died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after a long illness. Mr. Pendley was born April 20, 1914, at Pekin, Ill., and was a longtime Miami resident. He retired from the former Northeastern Oklahoma Railroad, later the Frisco Railroad. He was a member of First Christian Church, Miami, where he was a Sunday School teacher and a deacon. He married Bertha Bartman on Dec. 6, 1937, at Pineville. She survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Ken Pendley, Miami, Lester Harold Pendley, Roger, Neb., and Jerry Pendley, Clifton, Va.; a daughter, Jean Voiles, Miami; a sister, Ruby Nichols, Miami; a brother, J.R. Pendley, Miami; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at GAR Cemetery, Miami

obituary as MIAMI, Okla. - Wilma L. Pendley died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2001 at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center after an illness. She was 79. Pendley was born February 26, 1922 at Sulphur Springs, Ark, to Tony and Viola Alice (Craig) Biven. She was a retired beautician and a member of the Northwest Baptist Church. She married the Rev. J.R. Pendley on January 11, 1942 at Southwest City, Mo., he preceded her in death on April 21, 1998.
Survivors include: a son and his wife, Jim and Judy Pendley, Yorktown, Va.; two sisters, Jewel Birkes, Miami, and Carrie Anderson, Newburg, Ore.; a brother, Lester Biven, Sulphur Springs, Ark., and a grandson, Kevin Pendley, Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services will he held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home chapel with minister J. Fulton Amonette officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Afton.
