Obituary as: Betty Louise Miller, 76, of Oklahoma City, OK, joined her Heavenly Father on Dec. 28, 2008. She was born Nov. 26, 1932 in OKC to Claude and Ada Pendley. Betty attended Capitol Hill H.S. and graduated in 1950. Her career with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission began in Jan. 1965, where she worked for over 22 years, retiring in Aug. 1987. Betty gave her life to the Lord at the age of 16 at The Agnew Church of God, where she also met the love of her life and husband of 56 years, Carlton. She and Carlton were faithful members of Shartel Church of God for over fifty years. Betty and Carlton enjoyed years of traveling around the country in their RV with their friends in the Road Runners. Betty was a child of the depression and knew how to stretch a dollar, so her family never wanted for anything they needed. She was also tenacious in finding the "special" items her children and grand-children were looking for. If there was a toy of the year and only one in town, Betty would find it. Betty also loved doing special things for friends and family. Children in the neighborhood were often greeted with a special gift from "Grandma Betty" on their birthday or special celebrations friends and family often found greeting cards in their mailbox for no special reason except to say "I'm thinking of you." Betty was a loving wife and mother, a proud grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Miller her infant daughter, Sharon Kay Miller in 1953 her parents brothers, Claude Pendley, Jr., Freddie Crawford sister, Marie Crawford and son-in-law, Jerry Avery. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Lynn Avery of Lewisville, TX and Jan Miller of Anderson, IN grandchildren, Kim Fox and husband, Jason, Ben Avery and wife, Erin great-grandchildren Makenna, Aidan, and Kalli. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00PM. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Shartel Church of God, 11600 S. Western, OKC. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Jones, OK.
