Born Nov. 29, 1923, in Butler County, Ky., he was the son of Sidney Wayne and Vadie (Pendley) Roach. Survivors include his wife, Alta N. (Pitcher) Roach, whom he married Dec. 22, 1964; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jack Kluemper of Washington and Kathy and Barney Fitzgerald of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Carlton Roach and David and Margie Roach, all of Louisville, Ky.; one stepdaughter, Neva Ramsey of Louisville; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Robert and Wilma Smith of Vincennes and James Smith of Washington, 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Sidney Roach of Greenwood and Lester Roach of Zionsville. Seven sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter are deceased. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
