Obituary as Darrell Wayne Pendley, 59, died Sunday, Oct 1, 2000 at his home in Laramie. Dr. Pendley was a brother of Linda Anderson of Riverton. Memorial services are Thursday, Oct 5 at 5 p.m. from St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral in Laramie. Darrell Wayne Pendley was born Thursday, May 8, 1941, in Powell, the son of Leo and Nola (Carpenter) Pendley. He attended school in Powell and was graduated from Powell High School. While there, he excelled in sports, especially swimming, football and track. He held the state track record for the mile for many years. He later attended the University of Wyoming, where he earned his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees. Dr. Pendley was an elementary and secondary teacher in Laramie for many years, as well as being a swimming/diving coach and school psychologist. He was a member of the Laramie educational community for more than 35 years.
Dr. Pendley is survived by his wife, Lynne, of Laramie; sons Kevin and his wife Tamra Fenstermaker of Rio Rancho, NM, and Darren and his wife Tanya of Albuquerque, NM; his brother, Gary Pendley and his wife Connie of Cheyenne; his sister, Linda Anderson of Riverton; his grandchildren, Amber and Tyler of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Pendley.

Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Born June 28, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Mr. Pendley died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in Jacksonville. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and retired as PNC (E-7) after 28 years of active service. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vivian Annette Banks Pendley; a daughter, Mrs. Karen Michelle (Eric) Woolery, both of Jacksonville; four sons, William H. (Patricia) Standifer of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kevin Dewayne (Jennifer) Pendley of Mt. Airy, Maryland, David Laurence Pendley, Jr. and Timothy Andrew (Melissa) Pendley, both of Jacksonville; and ten grandchildren
