Pendley Families and Individuals of Eastern Kentucky 1-7-08

Individuals in this file are the thus far identified descendents of John Penley and Rebecca Lane who moved from Scott Co Virginia to eastern Kentucky about 1830. Most of the family continued on to Indiana and Illinois and a number of the family adopted the spelling of the last name as Pendlay. (Almost all Pendlays are part of this family). Most of this information has been researched by other. My major source was Mrs Betty Condra of Logotee Indiana. Another major player provided the basis for the bulk of this file. I appologize that his name escapes me at the minute, but I received his electronic file along with another large one on the Virginia family from Jerry Penley of Kingsport, Tenn. This, as in all of the files represents a work in progress and will contain errors and ommissions. When such are found, please let us know the information and we will correct the data. Watch however for the notes. They will show the sources and what information came from each source. Sometimes we have to make a judgement call from conflicting information. As additional information becomes available we will adjust what appears in the file.
