ALMA(Kansas) - Violet Ellen Rush, 95, Alma, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Alma Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 1, 1910, in Yates Center, the daughter of Lewis Benjamin and Eva Bell Nead Pendlay. She grew up on a farm in Woodson County and graduated from Yates Center High School.
She served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 - 46.
Survivors include a brother, Cleo Pendlay, Yates Center.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Mae Gray and Florence Pendlay, and two brothers, Thomas Benjamin Pendlay and Lewis Pendlay.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Yates Center Cemetery with military honors.
