Ervin Oscar Davis was my father. My father who I did not know as a
father, but as a kind man. He was hospitalized when I was three years old
with a mental disorder. My father was a farmer and a mill worker. He
worked at Speers Ferry Feed Mill with his father. My father also did
construction work on the Virginia Road Works with Bascom and William
(Bill) Calhoun. He was a deacon at Gravely Hill Baptist Church. He had
hypertension, heart disease, ulcers and his mental disorder. He died from
a heart attack. He is buried in the Barrett Cemetery, Gravely Hill
Baptist Church, near the church where he had good memories.
