He shot his wife five times with a small caliber pistol at a Sunday night church
service in Bellamytown on 3/24/1963. She was treated at Hol Val Hosp. He was
taken to Southwester State Mental Hospital at Marion of observation. She had
sued for divorce and had been living with relatives for some time. He entered
the rear of the church and shot her as she was walking to the front to sing
with the choir. He then ran to her and fired four more shots.
